Reference Information Bulletin--August 2005

Nine databases are gone but not lost

When new Texshare licenses went into effect July 2005, the TWU Libraries lost access to nine databases. The good news is that they were only subsections of two larger databases - Academic Search Premier and MasterFILE Premier - which we still have. None of the content has been lost.

You can find everything that was in the following databases by searching Academic Search Premier:

Computer Source
Health Source: Nursing Academic
Professional Development Collection (education)
Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection
Religion and Philosophy Collection
Sociological Collection

You can find everything that was in the following databases by searching MasterFILE Premier:

Health Source: Consumer Edition
MAS Ultra (education)
Middle Search Plus (education)

Links to Academic Search Premier and MasterFILE Premier can be found on the Databases webpage (http://www.twu.edu/library/articles/title_az.htm) both in the A-Z Title List and in the Descriptions list. Links also may be found on many Subject Guides (http://www.twu.edu/library/search/guides.htm).

For Assistance Call:

  • Denton - (940) 898-3702, Ask for the Librarian on Duty

  • Dallas Presbyterian - (214) 706-2395, Ask for Elaine Cox
