National Day on Writing

On October 20, 2009, people all over the country celebrated the significance of writing in their lives by participating in the National Council of Teachers of English National Day on Writing. At Texas Woman's University, students contributed writings to the National Gallery of Writing and celebrated literacy in the Blagg Huey Library Reading Room by reading from Cynthia Ozick's book of poems, entitled Epodes. Dr. Hugh Burns donated a very special copy of Cynthia Ozick's Epodes, illustrated by master printmaker Sid Chafetz to the Woman's Collection of the TWU Libraries. The truly appreciated gift book, commemorates the National Day on Writing and honors TWU Libraries.
