Libraries and Publishers Offer Support For Haiti

Libraries and publishers are providing free access to full text medical resources online to support libraries and hospitals affected by the Haiti earthquakes. Healthcare personnel responding to the disaster can also access over 200 biomedical journals and 30 emergency medicine and other medical reference books in this Emergency Access Initiative described at http://eai.nlm.nih.gov/

"The Initiative, established originally for US libraries impacted by disasters, has been expanded to include Haiti and is a partnership of the National Library of Medicine, the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, the Association of American Publishers Professional & Scholarly Publishing division, and these publishers: American Academy of Pediatrics, American Association for the Advancement of Science, American College of Physicians, BMJ, Elsevier, Mary Ann Liebert, Massachusetts Medical Society, Oxford University Press, Springer, University of Chicago Press, Wiley, and Wolters Kluwer."
