Pride 2013

Every June, Pride often signifies lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) pride in sexual identity.  With the Supreme Court's recent rulings on same-sex marriage the talk around every American watercooler, Pride has taken on particular significance in 2013.

Throughout the world, annual Pride events commemorate the Stonewall riots and help raise awareness of LGBT issues.  In Houston, Dallas, and the Denton area there were many Pride events in June this year.  For those not familiar with TWU’s PRIDE organization, its goal is to affirm, support and advocate for LGBT issues.

Pride resources at TWU Libraries range from entertaining leisure reading to the complex, analytical and thought-provoking; research into thousands of issues impacting Pride awareness is available.  Many TWU dissertations and theses on Pride issues can be searched via our databases
