Tech the Halls

The TWU Libraries in Denton and Dallas, and the Houston ARC, are equipped with the technology you need to succeed with your research and studies.

In addition to WiFi, copiers and outlets for charging phones and other devices, our facilities in Denton, Dallas and Houston are furnished with a range of technology geared toward the success and convenience of TWU students.  While this is true year-round, finals on the horizon make this a particularly good time for a roundup of some of the ways the TWU Libraries tech our halls for students at TWU.

D = Dallas Center Library
H = Houston ARC

Computers

B  D  H
The Blagg-Huey Library has computers on every floor, including its ground level.  Using a flashdrive?  Make sure you take it with you--it is very common for these to be left behind.  Computers in the Houston ARC are connected to printer E in the adjacent Mega Computer Lab.

Laptops
B  D
Available for checkout with a current TWU ID at the Circulation Desk (Denton) and the front desk (Dallas), a laptop is a good option when you're using a study room or can't locate an available computer.

Printers

B  D  H
Free of charge with Pioneer Portal login info, printing is available in black and white.

Scanners
B  D
Available for student use free of charge (in Dallas and on floors 1-3 in the Denton library), scanners are a good alternative to copiers--just scan your material and email it to yourself or save it to a flashdrive.  To cut down on wait time, library staff members at the Denton library Information Desk can tell you which scanners are currently available.

Presentation rooms with HDTV
B  D
Get some practice time in for your upcoming presentation by reserving a presentation room in Denton or Dallas.

Phone chargers
B  D
Available for checkout with a current TWU ID at the Circulation Desk (Denton) and the front desk (Dallas), phone chargers are available for both iPhones and Android models.

Headphones
B  D  H
Listen to videos or other audio without disturbing those around you.  Just present your current TWU ID at the Circulation Desk (Denton) or at the front desks in Dallas or Houston.

Digital Sign
B
Enter the Blagg-Huey Library on the Denton campus and it's the first thing you'll see--a bright electronic sign above the Information Desk with the latest news and other library information.  Stay current by checking it often.

Kiosks
B  H
In a hurry?  Kiosks in the Houston ARC and on floors 1 and 3 of the Blagg-Huey Library in Denton allow students to check the catalog, find an article, verify library hours and more--all without logging into a computer.

Website / Mobile / Ask a Librarian / Social Media

B  D  H
Did you know that many library services and resources are at your fingertips 24/7, even away from the library?  The TWU Libraries website and mobile are electronic portals to research and other information for TWU students--and faculty and staff members--near and far.  Questions?  Connect with the libraries and library staff members by text, chat, email or phone. Like to stay informed?  Like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, check out our blog--and there's lots to see on Instagram, Pinterest, Flickr and YouTube

Dedicated library personnel are eager to answer your questions and help you with tech and other library issues--so if you have a question or need other assistance, please let us know.
