Let a Library Transform You Today

Think of a library, and chances are you'll think of books--row upon row, shelf after shelf, each volume unique. Yet as important as books are, they do not define libraries--or come close to fully demonstrating their value.

Libraries are manifestations of the importance of information and knowledge, of teaching and learning. They are physical entities whose value far exceeds the cost of the materials they are made of. Libraries are buildings, yes, but they are also trained and dedicated people, and widely varied resources--and most importantly, the magic that can happen when the two combine.

Libraries engage. They teach, they serve, they inform. Libraries shelter and entertain and inspire. They soothe and support. They give hope. They nourish creativity, and independence, and adventure. They transform lives--and in some cases, save them.

April 9-15, 2017 is National Library Week. Celebrate the transformative power of the libraries in our lives by visiting, in person or virtually, your favorite library today.
