You're Invited: Free Comic Book Day 2017

Do the words free comics make your heart skip a beat? Then mark your calendar for Monday, May 8, 2017.

All members of the TWU community are invited to attend a Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) event on Monday, May 8, 2017 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Pioneer Center for Student Excellence, Room 234 (on the second floor of the [Denton] Blagg-Huey Library). Returning FCBD speaker Dr. Jonathan Evans will talk about engaging students on a visual level in Visual Comprehension: How Comic Book Narrative Structure Can Aid in the Composition and Literature Classrooms. Free comic books will be distributed courtesy of Twenty Eleven Comics of Flower Mound.

We hope to see you on Monday, May 8, 2017 for this fun and informative event. Questions? Contact event coordinator Sandy Cochran (scochran2@twu.edu).

The holdings of TWU Libraries include graphic novels, comic strip books, and books about comics; find them by using TWUniversal to search for graphic novel or comic book. As always, library staff members are happy to help.
